Welcome

Lisbon Public Library is located in an historic storefront building in the heart of downtown Lisbon, Iowa. Our small library has popular print and nonprint materials for everyone and specializes in high-quality reading material for children of all ages. The second floor of the library houses Lisbon Heritage Hall, the site of cultural programs that include concerts by world class musicians, theatre productions, and readings by local writers.

Dream Big! will start off with a bang at a kickoff party sponsored by Hills Bank. Wednesday, May 23 from 5 – 6:30 PM at the Mt. Vernon branch of Hills Bank

Eulenspiegel Puppet Theatre, Monday, June 18 at 1 PM

Fairy Tale Birthday Party with storyteller Darren Crow on Tuesday, July 31 at 2 PM.

Blank Park Zoo visit with nocturnal animals on Thursday, August 2 at 11 AM in Lisbon Heritage Hall.

Story Hour at Lisbon Public Library

Miss Amy and Leo will share books, songs, fingerplays and fun ideas with children and their caregivers every Thursday at 10:30 AM at the library. All are welcome at this popular summer tradition for book lovers of all ages.

Monday: 9-1 and 2-5
Tuesday: 2-5
Wednesday: 2-8:30

Thursday: 10-5
Friday: 12-5
Saturday: 9-1

Heritage Hall

Historic Lisbon Heritage Hall is located on the second floor of Lisbon Public Library. Renovated in 1997 to its original purpose at the turn of the nineteenth century, this space is used for cultural and educational programs and includes a grand piano, seating for fifty, and a small stage. The acoustics in the hall make it particularly well suited for chamber music concerts, recitals and theatre performances.
